my monster

reflection
For my ceramic monster project, I created a small, bright yellow monster with three eyes and a funny, playful expression. I wanted my monster to look silly and unique, so I added details like three large green eyes, small arms raised in the air, and spikes on the top of its head, to match the picture. I also gave it a big smile, with its tongue sticking out, to make it look goofier and more full of personality.
To make the monster, I first shaped the main body of clay into a rounded form. After that, I added the smaller pieces like the arms, feet, and spikes on the head. I also created three circular eyes and attached them to the front of the face. To make sure the pieces stayed together, I used the scoring and slipping technique before pressing them onto the body.
Once the main shape was finished, I added extra details like the mouth, tongue, nose, and small decorations on the body. After it dried, it was fired in the kiln so the clay would harden. When it was ready, I painted it with bright colors. I chose yellow for the body so it would stand out, green for the eyes, and pink and red tones for the mouth and details.
Overall, I am really happy with how my ceramic monster turned out. I like how colorful and expressive it looks, and I think the three eyes and spikes make it interesting. This project helped me practice shaping clay, attaching pieces, and adding creative details to make a sculpture come to life.
